Cheers to YOU

For today's project I wanted to share a card I made for my niece's birthday.  I started off by cutting a circle shaped card from a sheet of red paper from the DCWV Gone Wild paper stack.

I really like this paper stack because it has some great animal prints, and not just in the traditional colors.  There are bright pinks, greens, reds, oranges and yellows.  For projects like the one I am doing today where I wanted a red background, but something will a little bit of interest in the pattern, this stack is perfect.

I found the circle shaped card cut on the Wild Card Cricut cartridge.  I also cut a smaller circle out of the Basics Stack

This stack has lots of great polka dots, stripes and chevron patterns.

I took a plain white sheet cardstock and stamped a pattern on it using a swirled background stamp that I colored with Gelatos from Faber Castell that my daughter and I brought home from CHA.  I like how "creamy" these are, which made it easy for me to blend the reds and blues together for the background.

I added the little penguin cheerleader from the Day At The Rink stamp from Craffiti Direct.  This stamp set is extra special to me since the artwork was designed by my son.

I added the word Cheers . . . I wanted something different from the traditional "Happy Birthday" greeting.  And to add some sparkle, I took some scraps of the red rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique and cut them into triangles.  Last but not least, a few dots of Viva Decor sprinkled around the cheerleader for the finishing touch.

I have included product links below
