What would you do if you wanted to make a project for a winter holiday . . that means anything from Halloween to Valentine's Day but you cannot use ANY Cricut holiday cartridges?
That is exactly the challenge going on right now at
Let me show you what I would do. I would start off at MyCutSearch.com and I would think of an image that is a symbol of each holiday and search for that. Here are some examples . . .
Holiday: Halloween
Image: pumpkin
So now let's look at just SOME of the non-holiday cartridges I found.
Did you know that A Child's Year has some really cute pumpkin cuts on it?
and Simply Charmed
Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 . . . this one even has a Happy Halloween phrase cut
Now, I personally don't own any of those cartridges, but I did find some that I do own, one of them being Disney Happily Ever After
And here is a Halloween themed project where I used that cut
Let's try another holiday
Holiday: Thanksgiving
Image: turkey
Again, these are just a FEW of the images I found using MyCutSearch.com
Animal Kingdom
Create A Critter
Celebrate with Flourish
And here is a project I created with the turkey from Celebrate with Flourish
This is kind of fun!
Holiday: Christmas
Image: Christmas tree
How about these for Christmas Tree images from non-holiday cartridges
Art Philosophy
Create A Critter 2
Lyrical Letters
(the tree is in the small icon, top row, middle image, shift key)
And here is a card I made with that tree cut
I hope this shows you that when you use the right tools for the job
(MyCutSearch.com for finding images)
it is not that hard to find an image for your holiday projects without going to a holiday Cricut cartridge.
So show me what you can find and join the challenge at
My cut search is my go to tool when I need to find a certain cut on a cartridge. I own quite a few cartridges and I don't have the time to search and search the handbooks. I type in what I'm looking for, scan for the cartridges I already own and bingo I'm done. My Cut Search has saved me a lot of money. If I'm looking at a new cartridge or a die to cut a certain image, I type in that image i.e. pillow box, and make sure I don't already own a cartridge that will do that for me.
