Today I want to share a fun birthday card that I made, and some information about a new line of stamps that I just started to play with. First, the card . . .
Supplies used
Kraft paper card
Cardstock by My Mind's Eye - Blue Wave
Teal cardstock
Yellow ribbon
Cuttlebug folder - Spots and Dots
Seed beads
I stared with a kraft paper card, and then trimmed a piece of Blue Wave cardstock by My Mind's Eye to fit. Because I knew I was going to layer the teal cardstock over the top, I trimmed out the center of the piece before I attached it to the kraft card. This allows me to save this inner rectangle to use for another project.
Then I cut a piece of teal cardstock slightly smaller than the size of the card, so that you see a small boarder of the dot pattern from the Blue Wave paper. I knew I was going to place a stamped image peeking through the teal cardstock, so I cut a small oval in the lower right corner of the cardstock.
Then I ran the teal cardstock through the Cuttlebug with the Spots and Dots folder, and I lightly brushed some blue ink over some areas of the cardstock to add more depth to the embossing. I took a small piece of yellow ribbon and glued it down to the back of the teal cardstock and then brought the ends to the front to tie off.
Then I stamped this cute little fish from the Mermaid Fairy stamp set
I used several different colored pencils and markers to color him in and blend him. I added some blue and teal seed beads to look like bubbles coming up from his mouth.
And this is how the completed card looked.
If you like this this little fish, you should check out ALL of the stamp sets at Craffiti Direct. They are having a Labor Day sale right now (it ends September 6th)
