Disney Pixar Blog Hop - June 28th - Birthday Card

Welcome to the Disney Pixar Blog Hop!

If you love Disney Pixar and crafting, you came to the right place!  We have been sharing Disney or Pixar inspired projects ALL MONTH.   If you missed the first three weekends, you can still go back and see all of those projects too.  Just click HERE to see the projects from the first weekend, and click HERE to see the projects from the second weekend and click HERE to see the projects from the third weekend.

For today's project I want to share a card I made for a friend of my daughter's.  My daughter came home from lacrosse practice and asked me if I could make a card for her friend . . . and she needed it for his birthday THE NEXT DAY!  Sure . . . no pressure for a fast card.

So while she took a shower I made this card.  It really did not take me very long . . . maybe 15 minutes.

I started by using some blue paper with bright colored lines, and accenting the bottom of the card with a coordinating green to really bring out the green in the pattern on the top half of the card.

Then I was looking at the card and noticed that I did not really cut the paper straight.  SHOOT!  I hate it when that happens!  So how did I fix that?  Just cover it up!  I added some of the rhinestone sticker sheet from The Buckle Boutique . . . cut a strip, peel off the backing and stick!

And now you cannot tell that I did not cut the paper underneath very straight.

My daughter wanted me to add a Pluto cut to the card.  Since I was trying to be as efficient with my time, since my daughter needed the card the next day, I found all of the colors I would need, arranged them on one Cricut mat and loaded that into my machine.  Then I just had to move the blade to the different colors of paper to cut the different layers . . . instead of loading and unloading the mat for each color.  This was also nice because I could take the cuts off the mat as I layered them and keep things organized.

Pluto layered together VERY quickly!  I stamped the words Happy Birthday and added a few dots of Viva Decor to the bottom part of the card.  I like how it looks like Pluto is resting his paw on the rhinestone sticker sheet trim.

  12. Just wondering who the lucky winner of this amazing prize package is. My email got deleted on accident because of a little kitty who got too curious so if I was sent an email it is somewhere in cyber space! LOL. They say curiosity killed the cat but I just grounded him from the bed for a little while! He is too cute to use up one of his 9 lives! LOL
