Disney Pixar Blog Hop - DAY TWO!

Welcome to the Disney Pixar Blog Hop!
Did you like the projects from yesterday?  If you missed any of them you can click HERE to find links to all of them.

Today I want to share a project that is made with adhesive backed fabric

I created a Mickey Mouse decal for my laptop

I cut all of the layers out of the solid color sheets of adhesive backed fabric and then layered them just like you would cardstock.  The best part is that if I stuck something down and it did not look straight I could just peel it back and reposition it.  To me, adhesive backed fabric feels more like working with a repositionable sticker than traditional vinyl.  Traditional vinyls I have used would have not peeled off as clean and the pieces would have twisted and warped if you tried to peel them back and place them again.

Oh, and since you don't use transfer tape with adhesive backed fabric there is one less product to buy.  Also, with traditional vinyl you need to weed away the vinyl around the image you cut . . . but not with adhesive backed fabric.  This actually gives you more product to cut with since you are not weeding anything away.  You can still use that negative space that is left over to make smaller cuts for other projects.

I also made a Mickey and Minnie Mouse with a mouse hole that
I put in my hallway just outside my craft room.

Here is a closer picture

  11. Your Mickey looks fantastic! I will certainly check out the site. I did one of our bathrooms in Mickey and Minnie, and the vinyl I used was tough to work with when make larger sized wall decor because of not being repositionable. Thanks for sharing the site!

  13. Hi Shawn! That's a great idea to use Square 1 to decorate your laptop. I always worry whether I'll change my mind, or even want to un-decorate if I have to take the laptop to a more formal business setting. This stuff would do the trick!! And the mouse hole -- TOOOO cute!! Love it!

  24. Love your laptop and mouse hole!!! I am confused about Square 1 sizes. Some say 12' (as in 12 feet) and others say 12" (as in 12 inches). Just curious if I am reading it correctly!

Love this hop!!! Thanks for letting me be a part of it!!
