Amazing how a group of Disney loving crafters have come together to create such a wonderful weekend of fun and inspiration! Now let's get on with the hop!
Today I am sharing a 2 page scrapbook layout that celebrates Disney and New Orleans. It is a layout of the hotel we stayed at . . . Port Orleans French Quarter!
I used the colors from the statue in front of the hotel pool as my color palette for this project . . . gold, purple and a teal blue. And since New Orleans and Mardi Gras are about celebration I had to use some things that had sparkle, glimmer and shine in them for this layout.
I could not find a harlequin patterned paper that I liked with the colors I wanted to use, so I just made my own! I cut gold, purple and teal diamonds at 3 1/4" big and then lined them up to create my own custom harlequin pattern. The pictures here are of us with the alligator between the hotel and the pool area. I am pretending that he is eating my hand, and then my husband comes in to try and save me.
I also cut some fleur de lis from a product called Dazzling Diamonds by The Buckle Boutique. It is a cuttable rhinestone like product. You can see other projects I have done with this product HERE and a video I did on how to cut this product HERE.
They also have these fun glitter sheets that I used for the purple fleur de lis. This stuff cuts like butter! LOVE IT! And the glitter stays on the sheet and not all over your craft room.
Now for the second page of the layout
Here are some daytime pictures of the hotel area . . . the statue by the pool, my daughter with the same alligator that was trying to eat me the night before, and the doorman at the hotel. He was so great! Greeting us every morning as we headed out to the parks.
I used the product from The Buckle Boutique again on this page
Goofy's hat is cut from Dazzling Diamond rhinestone sheets for just a touch of bling on a classic Disney character.
Then I used the glitter sheet again for the accent on the framing corner. I also had to add a little Viva Decor to look like beads around the glitter piece.
Don't you just LOVE the sparkle and bling!
