Happy Easter . . . with a little Disney!

I hope that all of you are enjoying your Easter! Today is also the kick off to a week long celebration of Disney, which was the idea of Janis at Pause Dream Enjoy.

This is not a hop . . . it is just a group of crafters that have all promised to ONLY post Disney related projects on their site this week.  Some people might post a new project every day, others may only get a few projects out all week, but they will all be Disney (or some other animated character)

For today I want to show you a project I did with my daughter while she was home over Spring Break.
We used vinyl from My Hobby Vinyl to cut out shapes to decorate our Easter eggs.

For two of the eggs we dyed them a solid color first.  Then we added the shapes that we cut out of vinyl.

My daughter used a swirl shape on her egg.  We used painter's tape to help us transfer the cut vinyl on to the eggs.

I love the vinyl from My Hobby Vinyl . . . it cuts and transfers so easily, even my 11 year old daughter could do this project with ease!  (Click HERE for their Facebook page)

After we placed the swirls on the egg, we put it into a different color of dye.  Then we allowed it to dry completely before we removed the vinyl, and here is what the finished egg looked like . . .

I cut Mickey Mouse icons for my egg . . .

Then my daughter wanted to try something different . . . what if we made the egg look like a minion from Despicable Me!

For this one we dyed the entire egg yellow, and then dip dyed the bottom half blue.  Then we used vinyl to create the eye and mouth.

What if we made one that looked like Donald Duck!

For this one we dip dyed the bottom half blue, then used vinyl to cut the bow, duck bill, eyes and hat.

If you had fun checking out my project, make sure to see what all of the other crafters have created by clicking on their names below . . . it will take you right to their blog.  Also, mark your calendar because I will be co-hosting a Disney Pixar Blog Hop May 19th and 20th.  If you want a reminder, you can go to the Facebook page HERE.
