Splish Splash

Over the Fourth of July I shared a one page layout that I did for a Memorial Scrapbook for a family with two young girls who lost their father to cancer.  I also mentioned that one page layouts are something that I consider harder to do . . . I am the type that usually wants to get as much onto the page as I can, so using just ONE PHOTO almost seems like a waste to me . . . until I did this Memorial Scrapbook.  There were so many moments in these girls life where there was only ONE photo . . . the girls were only 5 and 1 when their father died.

For this page I used the phrase Splish Splash from the Animal Kingdom Cricut cartridge.  The duck images are cut from Doodlecharms.  Then I used a paper that looked like it had soap bubbles on it and cut circles from coordinating solid colored papers to fill the page.  This project really helped me to learn to focus on the picture and not just try to fill the page.

I am entering this in the Fantabulous Cricut: Challenge Me Monday for this week.  The theme is water.  If you are looking for inspiration for your water themed projects . . . bath time, fun at the beach or relaxing by the pool . . . make sure to check out Fantabulous Cricut: Challenge Me Monday
