Using the Negative Space - Another Example

The other day I showed you a card I made using the negative space that was created when I cut a phrase with my Cricut, rather than using the actual phrase that I cut out.  Today I have another example with this same idea.

Here you can see the phrases that I cut out.  I can use those for another project, which is a great bonus of this technique . . . no waste.

For this card I used the phrase Add another Candle from the Lyrical Letters Cricut Cartridge.

I layered this cardstock on top of a blank pre-made card and then embellished it with candles cut from rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique.

The most time consuming part is adding all of the centers of the letters like a, d, o and e back into the negative space so that you can read the full letters again.

Since the candles for this card a relatively small I was able to use scraps from other projects to make them.  Again . . . not letting anything go to waste.

To top off the candles I cut the flame shape from Rowlux Illusion Film.  It does not show up well in this photo, but the product has ridges and a pattern right in it, and it really lends itself well to the movement of the flame of a candle.

So now with these two phrase cuts, I will be able to make a total of 4 cards . . . two with the actual cuts and the two I made with the negative space.
