Cupcake Tag

Here is a cupcake tag I made that would be perfect for a gift tag for a birthday celebration!

I actually made this tag MONTHS ago, but totally forgot to blog about it!  I did a blog post before about a cupcake card, that you can see HERE.  In that post I mentioned that I was saving the pieces I did not use in that card for another project.  Well, this is that project.

I cut the tag shape from the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge.  I used a polka dot paper for the lower half of the cupcake, and a yellow handmade paper for the top half.

I really liked the texture that the handmade paper added to the top of this tag.  I also cut a heart from the orange rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique.  If you have not tried these rhinestone sheets then now is the time to give them a try!  You can cut them with scissors, a craft knife or a die cutting machine.  I cut this heart with my Cricut.  If you want the cutting instructions, you can find those HERE.

Since the heart has adhesive on it, I attached the ribbon to the back of the heart before I attached the whole cupcake to the blue backing piece.  This way the ribbon was sandwiched in the middle.
