So I started to search on the internet for OTHER patterns. I decided to try some clothing for American Girl dolls since they were small, could be finished quickly and my niece has one of these dolls . . . and what girl does not love more clothes for her dolls!!!!!
I found the original pattern for this dress HERE, but I did alter it a little bit.
This was the FIRST American Girl doll dress I had ever crocheted, and once it was done I was so happy to see that it fit the doll perfectly! Now I plan on making several more for my niece, and I will have to take photos along the way to show my slight variations to the original pattern.
I have a newer blog post that has the full pattern for this dress . . . just click HERE.

When I was a little girl the popular doll was named Cricket and if you pushed a button her hair would grow. Me, my sister and my cousin all had Cricket or one of her companions and my mother made a ton of clothes for them. My grandmother did just what you've done and crocheted dresses. Your post brought back some lovely memories. Thanks for sharing your lovely work with us at Creatively Crafty :)
