Welcome to the Disney Pixar Blog Hop!

Disney and crafting are a magical combination, and we are so happy you joined us to day for this blog hop. Some of the crafters participating in this event have been doing this together since 2011! Over the years the hop has grown but one thing has always stayed the same . . . amazing crafting projects that feature your favorite characters from Disney and Pixar movies.

For today's project, I am sharing a card I made for my niece's birthday. She is a fan of the movie Frozen, so I knew I wanted to create an Elsa card for her.

To start off, I cut the base shape for Elsa from a soft gray cardstock. I think this will give the whole image a softer look. I cut her hair from a pale yellow cardstock and then applied yellow and white ink to her hair with a sponge. This gave her some great highlights!

I used the same idea on her face with some inks to highlight and shadow her face. Check out those cheekbones! It looks pretty messy here, but once I add it to the base . . .

I think it looks pretty darn good.

Now to add all of those little pieces. Yes, it can be frustrating to add those tiny cuts, but once you add them there is so much detail. Hint: I use a pin to help me to pick up the really tiny pieces and place them perfectly.

For this project I used some Viva Decor for the center of her eyes, to really make them pop. Scroll up and look at Elsa'as eyes in the image above, and then scroll down and look at her eyes in the image below.

Now to fill in the pieces of her clothing. I used a glitter vinyl, but you could use glitter cardstock too. I think that the sparkle in the glitter added an extra special element to the outfit.

I also wanted it to look like Elsa was wearing earrings, so I went back to my bottles of Viva Decor and grabbed the pearl color this time. I liked the look so much, I decided to do a few little dots in her hair around some of the snowflakes.
