Glow In The Dark Vinyl Lettering

I did this project really quick as I was making ANOTHER project last night . . .
I have my crafting mojo back!

I have been saying I wanted to do this for a LONG TIME
My niece loves glow in the dark stars in her room, as many children do, and I was talking to my sister-in-law once about how the plastic stars that you buy on the store don't always stick to the walls or ceiling well . . . or in the case of our bedroom they stuck TOO well from the owners before us and we had stars on our ceiling we could not get to come off.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a glow in the dark vinyl and you could cut stars out in any size you wanted?
But wait!  What if you could also cut words and names!

Well that is EXACTLY what I did!
Didn't it turn out cute?

I knew I had a cartridge that had letters with stars cut right into them, but I could not remember which one it was, so I went to

In the search bar I typed in

star G

so now the only handbook pages that it will show me are the ones with a star and a G on the same page.  I used the letter G for my search because I was going to cut my niece's name, Gabby, but the same thing would work for any letter.

Once I did this I was quickly able to see that the Hannah Montana Cricut Cartridge was the one I was thinking of.

I used the Rock Star Font, which has the star cut into the letter, for the first letter, and then the lowercase letters from the Daddy's Girl Font for the rest of the letters.  There is even another page towards the back of the handbook that had a "cluster" of assorted stars, so I cut that for the stars that are surrounding her name.

The hardest part was getting a good photograph.
I have a feeling that I will be doing these for all of the nieces and nephews

  1. I'm sure she'll love it! I've been wondering how to use those letters with the stars on them from that cart. This is such a cute idea.
