Birthday cards for boys are always so hard for me. I like to make things with sparkle and bling, and boys/men don't usually like cards like that.
Here is a 13th Birthday card I made for a friend of our family. I used a brightly striped paper for the background, and then cut the number 13 to look like birthday candles.

Okay, back to the card . . .
I finished it off with a smaller blue piece of paper that I embossed with a random Happy Birthday pattern. Simple . . . but just right for a 13 year old boy.
