Party Time

For me, making cards for the men and boys in my life are always the harder cards for me to create.  Maybe because I love to use things that sparkle and shine, and men/boys don't usually like those.

But when I did come up with an idea for my nephew's first birthday card I knew that the perfect paper for it would be Megan Elizabeth's Paper Layerz.  Paper Layerz is a 12"x12" sheet that is divided into 9 three inch squares of coordinated paper.

So using one sheet of Paper Layerz . . . I think this pattern is the Happy Dots pattern in the Perfect Gems color scheme if I remember right . . . I cut all of the different layers needed for the little lion, his party hat and the words Party Time.

I even used some of the left over pieces of the Paper Layers sheet to mat the lion on the card.  The white and the brown pieces have a really soft subtle dot pattern on them also.  To finish it off I added some dots of my own with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen.    Viva Decor is the perfect way to add your own little accent to a project.  The dots of color are 3D and have so much shine to them. 

Watch out . . . there are "imposters" out there . . .
