Happy Easter!

I hope that all of you are enjoying a Happy Easter!

I have a project that has a sign of spring, and when you are living where there is still snow on the ground like I am we need all of the signs of spring we can find!

For this card I went simple but elegant.  I used a solid color of cardstock that I cut to size and folded in half.

Next I added a black and while patterned piece of paper slightly smaller than the front of my card.

Next I cut a piece of plain white paper slightly smaller than the black and white patterned paper.

Then I ran the white paper through my Cuttlebug to emboss it and give it a little extra POP.

Before adhering these layers to the card, I wrapped a piece of black ribbon around it and taped it down on the backside.  This way you get a nice clean wrap and you know that the ends of the ribbon will stay tucked in.

The final touch . . . a BEAUTIFUL butterfly cut from the Glitter Vinyl Sticker Sheet from The Buckle Boutique!  Now, I have cut glitter cardstock in the past, and I have to tell you that the Glitter Vinyl Sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique are SO MUCH BETTER than ANY glitter cardstock I have EVER used!

Why is this product so much better than glitter cardstock?
  1. I can rub my hand all over the Glitter Sticker Sheets and not a SINGLE speck of glitter comes off on my hands!  All of that sparkle stays on your project!
  2. It cuts like hot butter!  Seriously!  With the cut for this card I had my Cricut set with a blade depth of 4, pressure and speed were at 3 and I only did a single cut (no muliti cut needed!) and it cut all of those delicate curves and just peeled right of the backing!
  3. Since it is a sticker sheet, and not a cardstock, the adhesive is already on the back of the cut, so there is no need to get out a glue pen and try to get glue on all of those little delicate areas.  No worries of anything "popping" back off of your project because you did not get enough glue in one area.

Do you know which Cricut Cartridge this butterfly is from?  I bet you won't guess since when you hear the name of the cartridge the first thing that pops into your head is not "butterfly".

It is from the Disney Hannah Montana Cricut Cartridge!
It is the one in the first feature button called Pop Princess.

I found this buy using my favorite search database, MyCutSearch.com
Just type in butterfly and you will probably find a cartridge you own that has a butterfly you could use to make a card just like the one shown in this post.

Happy Crafting!
