Layout using Page Maps

I finally had time to work on my scrapbooks again, but I found I was having creative block.  I was looking at these three pictures I wanted to use for this layout, and NOTHING was coming to me.

So I grabbed my Scrapbook Page Map book and started to flip through it.  If you have not heard of this book, it is filled with scrapbook page layouts and examples for you.  I find that it helps to give me inspiration when I need a layout idea.

I found a layout on page 57 that used 3 pictures which is what I was trying to work with for my layout, so I decided to use that for my starting point.

I also knew I wanted to use a lot of circles in this layout . . . don't ask me why . . . I was just feeling like circles.  I cut out SEVERAL circles on a strip of paper and the left over paper looked like this.

Those open spaces were just calling out for me to weave something in them.  So I cut a strip of purple paper . . .

Then I added that to my page with a colored pebble paper and a metallic purple paper . . .

Time to add the pictures and some embellishment . . . well, the embellishment is really just circles I cut out and the lettering.

Using Page Maps can be a great way to get you started on a layout.  As you can see in my example, I did not follow the map exactly, but you can see the elements that I used from the inspiration page.
