Rhinestone Cell Phone Case

Here is a quick and easy way to add some sparkle to your cell phone case . . . using the rhinestone sticker sheets from Buckle Boutique!

I have a co-worker who was tired of her plain looking cell phone case, and I asked her if she would want a rhinestone covered case.  She was very happy to see how easily the rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique are to use, and how easy it was to cut them with scissors and a craft knife so that she could make them fit her case perfectly!

And since the rhinestone sticker sheets cut easily with a craft knife she was able to even cut out the small oval shaped hole for the camera.

I want to thank my co-worker for sharing these photos she took of her rhinestone covered cell phone case.  She has a website devoted to her love of photography at and she will be displaying some of her work at the St. Paul Art Crawl this weekend.  If you would like more information on this event you can go to

Bling Up a Box

Here is the FASTEST and EASIEST way to put a smile on the face of a teenage girl who loves sparkle . . . give her a rhinestone covered box!

The back story on this project is that my daughter plays hockey, and one of her teammates has a pair of earrings that look like little crowns.  She had them on one day when she showed up at the rink, and since she had to take them out for the game and did not want anything to happen to them, she asked me to keep them safe.  She said her Grandmother gave them to her "because she is a princess".

Well, that got me thinking . . . what would happen if she wore those earrings to a game and I was not there to keep them safe for her?  I decided that The Princess needed a box JUST for her crown earrings!  I found a box that I had at home that a small piece of jewelry probably came in.  Then I grabbed my rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique along with my Westcott Non-Stick scissors.  I have found that these scissors are the BEST for cutting ANYTHING that has an adhesive backing. I never have to worry about any sticky stuff ending up on my scissors.

I simply cut pieces of the rhinestone sticker sheets the same size as the sides of the box . . . peel off the backing and stick.  It is THAT EASY!

You should have seen how happy she was to get a special box that sparkles to keep her special earrings in!

Have you read the book or seen the movie Divergent?  My daughter Beth is a fan of the books, and of course wanted to see the movie.  When there was a Red Carpet Premiere in our area she went to it with some friends so they could see the actors.  She knew that the actors always give out some tickets to see the movie that night to people in the crowd, and she asked me if she got picked from the crowd to get tickets would she be able to stay to actually SEE the movie . . . it would be late, and it was a school night.

Now, being that I am such a wonderful mother, and that I figured "what are the odds MY DAUGHTER will get picked out of a crowd of screaming girls" I said sure, she could stay to see the movie if she got picked.  Well, the movie was going to start at 7pm . . . at 6:50pm I got a text from her . . . "We got in!"

So I hung out at the mall for another 2 1/2 hours waiting for her and her friends to get done seeing the movie.

After the movie I got to hear the whole story . . . they were at the Red Carpet event and my daughter, who is under 5'-0" tall, was feeling a little "squished" in the crowd.  Then they could see one of the actors, Ansel Elgort, coming down the Red Carpet.  All of the girls start to go crazy and my daughter had girls reaching over her head to try and reach out to Ansel . . . and then he stopped right in front of her, reached out his hand and put two movie tickets into her hand.  She was pulled from the crowd (with her friend) and got to have her picture taken with Ansel on the Red Carpet.

There is even a photo of her on Ansel's Instagram Page at

Then my daughter saw a video on Ansel's Instagram page . . . it is a video of the moment he gave her the tickets.  You cannot see her at first, because there is SUCH a crowd of people around her.  But at one point you can see her face in the crowd.  The girl in the red had is my daughter's friend . . . look for her hat in the video and then look DOWN from that to see my daughter's face in the video.

This all happened back in March.  Well, just last night my daughter found out that Ansel did a Live Stream and in the Live Stream he talked about a Red Carpet Premiere where there was this small girl in a crowd . . . he was talking about my daughter!  Yes, he does not know her name, but it was kind of funny to hear Ansel tell this store on his Live Stream and know he is talking about my daughter.

We found a YouTube video of this . . . he tells the story of Beth in the crowd at 40 minutes into the video

Searching for Flowers

Spring is in the air, and spring always makes me think of flowers.  Here is one thing that you should know when using to find the images on your Cricut cartridges . . . drop the "s".

When we set up the website we had to assign search terms, or what is called "tagging" each image.  If the handbook image JUST had one flower on it, then the search term we assigned to it was flower.  Like this page . . . .

This shows the cut for one flower, not a bunch of flowers.  If you wanted to cut several of them to make a bunch of flowers you could, but you will not find this image if you search for the word flowers.

We had to think in the most simple of terms when creating the site, so you have to make sure that you think like us . . . simple . . . when you do your searching.

The other day I shared a card I created with some cute little PEEP bunnies I cut with my Pazzles machine out of the rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique.  Well, I thought of another cute way to use some more of these PEEPS.

I started with a frame that my daughter picked up when we were at CHA in January from the Deflect-o booth.  If you would like to see her post which includes a video, you can click HERE.

The thing I like about this frame is that it has this teal blue boarder already built into the frame.  If you place a photo right in the center it will look like you have it matted . . . or if you placed a larger photo in it, the outer edges of the image would have a soft teal blue shadow to them . . . pretty cool!

But you know me . . . I cannot just leave a frame like this alone!  I need to add something more to it.  I used some light purple ribbon from 3Girl Jam and wrapped that around the frame on the left side.  Then I added some PEEP shaped bunnies I cut out of the rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique.  I love that I can cut these, peel off the backing and stick them for instant sparkle anywhere!

The other nice thing is that since the bunnies are stuck onto the ribbon, and not the frame itself, I could slide the whole thing off after Easter is done and change it out with new embellishments for the next season.

Put a little HOP in your step!

                                       photo THISBUTTON.jpg

Welcome to the Crazy about Cricut Bday Blogaversary Bash Hop!  You should have arrived here from Shawnee's blog.  Make sure to go to to start at the beginning of this hop so that you don't miss any of the projects.

I had SO MUCH FUN making this card!

I am a fan of PEEPS . . . yes, those little sugar covered marshmallow bunnies that are everywhere this time of year.  As a child when my sister's and I would get our Easter baskets, we would always trade candy . . . I will give you this many of something I don't like for this many of something you don't like.  I always ended up with LOTS of PEEPS.

When I first received the new Hoppy Spring stamp set from Blue Moon Creations, I had visions of PEEP related projects.

For this card I started with some white paper and tapped of a portion of it.  Then I used a teal, pink and yellow ink to just randomly apply some color to the white paper.  Since it was taped off, I could smear and smudge my inks, and blend them into each other, but I knew that I would have a nice clean line when I removed the tape.

I used a stamp from the Hoppy Spring set to create the scalloped border edge, and another stamp from the same set for the It's Your Birthday sentiment.

Inside the card I stamped the sentiment Put a little HOP in your step.

I love how these PEEP bunnies sparkle!  I cut all of them on my Pazzles machine out of the rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique.
