Blog Background

I have been asked this question over and over again . . . "Where did you get your blog background? I love it."

Thank you. I am glad that so many of you like the background. I picked it because my favorite color is pink, and I thought it was classy with that little bit of "sassy" thrown in . . . kind of like me.

I wish I could take credit for it, but I cannot. I found it at http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/ They have so many wonderful backgrounds there. Also, if you go to the very top left hand corner of my blog, you will see that there is a logo and link to them built right into the background. I guess I should suggest that she make this bigger since so many of you have asked where I got the background and did not see that logo.

Make sure you check out http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/ The backgrounds are easy to use, and there are so many too choose from. I may pick out a Christmas one to use for the next month, and then we will go back to the standard background.

Christmas Stockings

Thanksgiving is over, and the Christmas season has officially begun. Did you go out and do any shopping yesterday? Did you get the stocking stuffers?

Here are the Christmas stockings that I made for my family several years ago. I actually purchased the fabric as a After Christmas sale, and then made them to use the following year. I purchased a yard of several different Holiday fabrics, and then once I got them home each family member was able to pick the ones that they liked and wanted to use on their stocking.

And of course, since my sewing machine does embroidery, I had to personalize them!

I think that my favorite thing about these stockings is that they are personal and unique . . . no one else will have a stocking like this because it is not a store bought item . . . it was hand-made with fabrics we picked out.

If you are looking for some good deals for YOUR stocking stuffers this year, make sure to check out http://shopittous.blogspot.com/

Christmas cards

Are you a Christmas card sender? Do you make your own cards or purchase them in the store?

I used to send out Christmas cards EVERY YEAR, along with the letter sharing with everyone what had happened in our family and pictures of the kids. There were some years that I was sending out 50 or 60 cards.

Once we had our second child, I did not have the time to sit down and write out that many cards. I always feel bad around the holidays that I did not send out cards. I always love getting the ones from people who put the extra time into making the cards themselves . . . they sat down and created these beautiful cards, and I didn't even have time to go and pick up a box of pre-made cards and send them out.

Even if I do not have time to make them, I love looking at the cards others create and the ideas that are out there. Archiver's is doing a card making event. Maybe that is what I need to do . . . go to one of these events and just make them there.

Halloween scrapbook layout

These pictures are from a couple of years ago . . . I am not that current on my scrapbooking that I have already taken care of this year's pictures.

Since I posted information on the Naruto costumes that I created for my kids, I though I would also show off the scrapbook layout of them wearing the costumes.

I used my Cricut to create the ghost and spiders, and I included a picture of the Naruto characters so that when family members who are not familiar with the cartoon look at the pictures they can see who the kids are pretending to be.
